Let’s make this part easy.

Lactation consultations are supposed to be covered by your health insurance at no out-of-pocket cost to you. As outlined on Healthcare.gov, “Health insurance plans must provide breastfeeding support, counseling, and equipment for the duration of breastfeeding. These services may be provided before and after birth.”

The last thing I want you to worry about right now is negotiating with your insurance company for the services you are entitled to receive. There are enough challenges during the postpartum period. I want to make this part easy.

Aetna: I am in network with Aetna plans. If you have Aetna, please contact me to get started.

Cigna: I am also contracted with Wildflower Health to provide no cost lactation care to Cigna patients. Verify your Cigna benefits here.

Most other PPOs (United, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Anthem, Humana, etc): For other insurance companies, I’ve partnered with The Lactation Network (TLN) to handle insurance claims for you (and me). If you are in network, you should be able to receive lactation consultations at no out-of-pocket cost to you. I can accept most Blue Cross PPO, Blue Shield PPO, Anthem PPO, and Humana PPO plans, as well as most PPO plans that utilize MultiPlan and PNOA. For many insurance providers, The Lactation Network covers you at 100% for your initial visit as well as needed follow ups. They will notify you of any restrictions up front. Verify your insurance benefits here and we can get started.

If you have the rare insurance plan that does not cover out-of-network lactation services (see: grandfathered plans, Kaiser), then I can provide you with an out-of-pocket estimate and Superbill. Contact me today.
